Les calculs de qualification hypothécaire comparent les coûts d'habitation et les dettes au revenu au moyen d'un taux admissible. Lorsque requis, le test de résistance utilise un taux admissible plus élevé que le taux contractuel. Les règles des prêteurs, des assureurs, des produits, du crédit, des renouvellements, des propriétés et de la souscription peuvent différer des valeurs simplifiées présentées ici.
